Things to Look Out For When Hiring a Contractor

When coming up with renovation plans, your contractor is crucial. You want someone who will share the same vision and passion for your home as you. Your contractor is responsible for the success of your project, so its important to get the right person for the job. Watch out for these warning signs before your commit to a contractor!

Lack of References

Your future contractors should have a list of references from previous work. Unless they are a new company, a lack of references could mean that their previous clients are dissatisfied.

No Permits

Before you hire anyone to do work on your home, make sure they have the appropriate permits. While small jobs may not need a permit, it’s still a good idea to check. If your contractor doesn’t have the right permits for a job, and something goes wrong, your home insurance may not cover the damages.

No Insurance
