Western CT Events this February

Take a look at what’s happening in western Connecticut this February. There’s a lot of fun activities going on, so it’s worth bundling your family and heading outdoors for! Here are some great events our staff picked out to share with you:

Eagle viewing Boat Cruises in Haddam CT (February 7th– March 22nd)

Do you enjoy bird watching? If so, check out the Connecticut Audubon Society Eco Travel organization! Sail along the Connecticut River about the RiverQuest, a 64 foot vessel with heated cabins and an open deck perfect for viewing. Identify local birds and learn the natural history of the area, perfect for the whole family.

Lyman’s 43rd Annual Winterfest in Middlefield CT (February 28th– March 1st)

Cure your winter cabin fever with a fun family-oriented event! Enjoy a sing along and meet Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen. Watch ice carving demonstrations along with food tastings and crafts! End the night with a horse drawn sleigh ride through a winter meadow. It’s been a long winter- make the best of it!

Trivia Night in the Bistro in Hartford CT (February 25th)

It’s time for trivia! Bring your friends and get ready for a night of fun. Great prizes will be awarded, including free concert tickets and more. Hosted by BaR Rated Trivia, this will be a night fun of memories!

34th Annual Connecticut Flower and Garden Show in Hartford CT (February 19th– 22nd)

Dreaming of spring? Looking to get away from all this snow? Look no further than this flower and garden expo! There are many scheduled seminars throughout the show, and demonstrations from hundreds of vendors. Learn from the education exhibits and further your knowledge on what plants you need for spring!

Meet Author Janet Lawler at Middlefield CT (February 28th)

Janet’s book Snowzilla tells a tale we can all relate to! The story is about the largest snowman ever built, so big that his size causes an uproar in town and he is forced to leave. The kids have to figure out how to save Snowzilla! Copies of her book will be available for sale and the author will sign each copy.
